Knightley’s Anti-Domestic Violence Ad Banned in UK
An anti-domestic violence advertisement, ‘The Cut‘, that starred the popular British actor Keira Knightley has been banned in UK. The British censors have banned the ad from telecasting.
The advertising censors declared the advertisement as too violent and has banned from British television. The Advertisement stars “The Pirated of the Caribbean” star in the main role. Knightley is shown returning from a film’s shoot. At home she is confronted by a violent boyfriend who accuses her of having an affair with a fellow co-star. Knightley is then shown getting knocked down, bashed and kicked badly multiple times.
The censor body of advertising in United Kingdom clearly rejected the promo on the ground of the violent scene in the end where Knightley is being repeatedly kicked as she is knocked down on the floor.
The advertisement named as ‘The Cut’ was made for UK charity Women’s Aid. The advertisement was also launched in British cinemas this month. It has been liked by many and has been an instant success on YouTube with one million hits.
The creator of the advertisement, Chris Hirst, MD of Grey London Advertising Agency, said, “The reason we are still in conversation with Clearcast about it is because it is too violent. Part of the campaign is to raise awareness about domestic violence, and spark debate, which the advert has done, even if it doesn’t make it on television“.

“The Pirates of the Caribbean” star, Kiera Knightly told Britain’s Daily Telegraph:
“I hate the Internet…I find it dehumanizing to constantly check e-mails or social sites which have become so fashionable.”
Kiera also said that she is not playing the fame game in Hollywood. She cares more about her career as an actress.
“I am not a celebrity. I don’t go home or out with my friends saying I’m a celebrity, and I don’t ask to be treated like a queen.”
It seems that society is obsessed with Twitter and Facebook. Look at all the media Demi and Ashton have gotten lately because of Twitter. It’s good to see a celeb who can’t stand the internet.

The ad debuts April 6 in cinemas to raise awareness of domestic violence.
Keira Knightley to Star in ‘Never Let Me Go’
Keira Knightley will star in Never Let Me Go. This sci-fi thriller is a film adaptation of the novel by British author Kazuo Ishiguro. The story of the film revolves around a trio who grew up in a boarding school. They had no knowledge about the outside world until they discovered that they are clones grown for the sole purpose of organ donation. The shooting of the film is scheduled to start in April in London.
Never Let Me Go will give Keira a very good opportunity to pull off this refreshing change from her usual image of those period drama queen. The film will also star Andrew Garfield, and Carey Mulligan. Keira will be seen playing the role of Kathy H., who is a young woman of 31. The story takes place in a dystopian Britain, in which human beings are cloned to provide donor organs for transplants. Kathy and her classmates have been created to be donors, though the adult Kathy is temporarily working as a “carer,” someone who supports and comforts donors as they are made to give up their organs and, eventually, submit to death.

Keira is adamant she doesn’t waste time calorie counting or spend pain-staking hours at the gym.The Brit beauty said: “I haven’t been to the gym for ages. I’m not one of those people who is going to jog five miles every morning.
“I’m trying to have bowls of pasta or whatever makes me happy and I’m drinking about a half a bottle of wine a night.”
She added: “F*** it! You’ve got one life to live. I say live it!”
